Some offerings for harvest at All Saints
We celebrated our harvest Eucharist this morning. A very thought-provoking sermon from Fr Christopher was complemented by lusty singing of harvest hymns including "We plough the fields and scatter..."
As Julian, the regular choirmaster was away on holiday, we were privileged to have Simon Lawford conducting the choir, which performed music by Nicholas Jackson and Rossini. The organist this morning was Sean Montgomery, who kindly travelled from Abergavenny to accompany the choir. He gave a fabulous rendition of Kenneth Leighton's Paean.
Our congregation was boosted by several visitors and students starting the new university term - it was great to meet them all over coffee and cake after the service.
